★ What is a Hakama?
Hakama is one of Japan’s traditional garments, worn as part of traditional attire from the waist down.
It is especially seen in traditional activities such as martial arts, tea ceremony, and flower arrangement, as well as in special occasions such as graduation ceremonies and coming-of-age ceremonies.
There are several types of hakama. For men, the commonly used ones include the andon-bakama (lantern hakama), which has a skirt-like shape, and the umanori-bakama (horse-riding hakama), which has separated legs like trousers. They also come in a variety of materials, colors, and patterns, which can be selected according to purpose or preference.

Just by changing the color of the haori (jacket), the impression changes!?
Coordination 1 (Kimono: white with reddish pattern, Obi: green, Hakama: brown)

A gives a simple yet stylish impression, while B retains a Japanese atmosphere but incorporates modern elements.
Coordination 2 (Kimono: white, Obi: red, Hakama: glossy silver)

A conveys warmth and friendliness.
B symbolizes kindness and affection, giving a calm and reassuring impression.
Coordination 3 (Kimono: white, Obi: purple, Hakama: purple)

A, used as an accent color, symbolizes passion and energy, and is a color that feels warm in cold times.
B, a purplish gray, has a mysterious and fantastic image, giving a sense of elegance and refinement. With the addition of gray elements, it also conveys calmness and stability.
Coordination 4 (Kimono: black, Obi: gold, Hakama: glossy white)

A has an image of luxury or a cool and modern impression, also characterized by a stylish atmosphere. Furthermore, black has a mysterious and enigmatic charm, drawing out a sense of the unknown and curiosity.
B harmonizes easily with any color. Silver, while luxurious, gives a refined and chic impression.
How was that? Just by changing one haori color, the appearance and impression change greatly.
The key point in selecting hakama is, first, to choose a size that suits your own height and body type. Colors and patterns are also important.
Introduction to Montsuki Hakama ~ Formal Edition ~
Black Montsuki Hakama – For weddings of the groom or family members
As the highest formal attire, the black montsuki hakama is the most prestigious, and is worn by grooms and their relatives at weddings.
You may also often see them worn by performers of traditional arts such as Noh, Kyogen, and Kabuki.

Hakama and Haori with Gorgeous Designs – To express individuality at Coming-of-Age and Graduation Ceremonies
For celebrations such as the Coming-of-Age Ceremony, choosing a more colorful and splendid hakama is also recommended.
Since the range extends from traditional to modern designs, it is good to select one according to your own preference.
When wearing hakama, it is important to pay attention to overall balance and harmony of colors.

Unique and Stylish Haori
Shichi-Go-San Ceremony
Shichi-Go-San is a traditional Japanese event held to celebrate and pray for the healthy growth of children. As its name suggests, it is held at ages 3, 5, and 7. While there are also rituals for girls, here we will focus on 5-year-old boys.
The “Hakama Ceremony,” where boys wear formal hakama for the first time, also called chakko, marks their initiation into boyhood, and it is said that they wear hakama after this ritual.

In addition to traditional auspicious patterns for children, modern color schemes and stylish design-focused hakama are also available, allowing for even more enjoyment.
